Growing old?? I don’t want..T____T

Posted in health on December 4, 2008 by representsoon

The process of ageing is inevitable. However not everyone can endure the facts that ‘things-you-can-do-during-young-but-cannot-do-when-old’ If healthy, that’s ok. Health is crucial. Speaking so much, i just want to say i am growing old each day. This morning, i eat my breakfast as usual but feel the pain of teeth. I guess is because the hot water is too hot, then after drinking hot water, i go and drink cold water. Cases like this never happens to me even once. Even I drink hot soup, then eat ice-cream. My teeth are still strong to withstand the temperature changes. That means what, next time have to take more good care of my teeth liao because I can’t stand toothache (although I never know the feeling of toothache, but other’s experience makes me frighten).

These are the steps on how to maintain healthy teeth and gums:

1. Brushing your teeth twice a day.

If you have teeth that are sensitive to heat, cold, and pressure, you may want to try a special toothpaste for sensitive teeth. Dentists say that the minimum time you should spend brushing your teeth is 2 minutes twice a day. (I spend more than 2 minutes….looking at the mirror admire my complexion wtf)

2. Flossing

Brushing is important but it won’t remove the plaque and particles of food between your teeth, under the gumline, or under braces. You’ll need to floss these spaces at least once a day.

3. Use Listerine (haha, this is my own additional step because I got use that.)

4. Consume nutritional diet

Avoid sugars. For most people, it’s hard to cut out sweets completely, (me?)   so try to follow these more realistic guidelines:

  • Eat carbohydrates (sugars and starches) with a meal.
  • If you can’t brush your teeth after eating, rinse your mouth with water or mouthwash, or chew sugarless gum.
  • Don’t eat sugary foods between meals.
  • If you snack, eat nonsugary foods, such as cheese, popcorn, raw veggies, or yogurt.

5. Going to the dentist

The main reason for going to the dentist regularly — every 6 months — is prevention. The goal is to prevent tooth decay, gum disease, and other disorders that put the health of your teeth and mouth at risk.

There you go. If you have followed all the steps, this is the result:

Awesome smile!
